How Do We Know The Gauss Of Our Magnetic Bracelets?

A very good question! If you have been shopping the internet, golf pro shops or department stores, you have most likely noticed the ads including gauss ratings for the magnetic bracelets. These figures can be anything from ratings which have been passed on by the manufacturer to simply a number that sounds impressive. AAAMagnetic has purchased magnetic bracelets from numerous manufacturers, retailers, etc. and we have found an astonishing variance in the claimed verses actual gauss of the magnets used in bracelets. Testing the gauss of the magnets with lab grade instruments has allowed us to find and use only the highest quality with the highest consistency in magnets. Even using only the top 2 manufacturers of magnetic bracelets, we still test each and every magnetic bracelet before shipment, assuring you will have only the best!

A rating to look out for is the "Manufactures Rating" this is a rating in gauss that has absolutely no meaning or use in determining the strength or power of a magnet used in bracelets (or anything else for that matter). It is the amount of gauss necessary to magnetize or demagnetize a particular type/material of magnet and is only a useful number for the factory. This is a very high number often used to misled the public. Also the claim that gauss readings do not prove any useful information is traced back to sources using older style ceramic, ferrite, or some other older technology magnet with embarrassingly low gauss ratings.

We have been asked many times if we could check a bracelet or other magnetic therapy item for the true gauss rating. Due to the extremely high cost of the instruments needed to accurately measure gauss, it has allowed many retailers to claim gauss ratings much higher than a true measurement would prove, knowing the public will have no recourse except to believe what they have been told. 	Lab Grade Hall Effect Gaussmeter

The MG-5 Series are Lab Grade portable Hall effect gaussmeters designed to measure both DC and AC (RMS) magnetic fields.

Three full-scale bipolar ranges of +-100 Gauss, +-1 kilogauss and +-10 kilogauss with 100% over-range and resolution of 0.05% provides DC and AC field readings from +-100 milligauss to +-19.99 kilogauss with true RMS readings from 3 Hz to 20 kHz; readings are displayed on a 3 1/2 digit +-0.1% bipolar LCD meter.

The MG-5D is a Hall effect instrument and uses a Hall Probe to couple with and measure the magnetic field. A wide selection of precalibrated transverse and axial Hall probes is available to meet most every application, including probes which will extend the measuring range of this instrument to 150 kilogauss.

The MG-5 Series operates either from AC or from sealed lead acid batteries. During AC operation, the batteries receive a trickle charge which keeps them fresh until the instrument is required for portable use. Freshly charged batteries will continuously operate this instrument for approximately 10 hours.

In addition, an analog output is also provided for external monitoring.

A reading of more than +-1999 counts will automatically switch this unit to a higher range and a reading of less than +-100 counts will automatically switch this unit to a lower range. The decimal point indicates the operating scale.

This instrument can be set to either detect the peak value when the field is bipolar (varying from positive to negative) or it can be set to exclusively detect either the positive peak or the negative peak of a varying field. Because of the digital circuit design, there is no decay in the peak field reading.
